This authentic Turkish town has a wonderful character of it's own being a great place to live or to stay, with plenty of shops, supermarkets, cafes, lokanta, restaurants (mainly open in the Summer months) and bars. The traditional all year round Tuesday market is a favourite of locals and visitors alike and in the Winter months it is nice to visit the cinemas, walk along the harbour front and have a drink in one of the friendly café's or bars.

The resorts of Ovacik, Hisaronu, Calis and the picturesque Olu Deniz beach are easily accessible from here.
For sheer year round convenience this is a truly wonderful place to buy a home, for either year round living or year round holiday availability, there is always something to do and see here.

Kayakoy

They left lot's of wonderful remains all around Fethiye. In the near history, (before 1. world war.) in the village called Kaya or Kayaköy (Karmylassos), Greek people used to live in peace under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. There used to be about 3000 buildings, 5 doctors, 3 pharmacies, 1 school, 2 big churches, more than 10 small monastries. The settling of this village (the Greek settlement) date the 15th century. The small church downtown, dates 1888. The other church (the bigger one up the hill) said to be built before the small one.

Oludeniz

Most famous for it's visually stunning beaches is this lovely seaside town. During the summer months Olu Deniz is busy with many tourists and locals, taking advantage of the wonderful views, beach, sea and café's, restaurants and bars. There are many activities here during the Summer, and in the Winter, it is a great place to come to, just for a lovely walk, a quiet sunbathe (weather allowing) or a barbecue or picnic. Olu Deniz is a short minibus or drive away from Hisaronu or Ovacik and about a 20 minute drive away from Fethiye.
Hisaronu

A lively friendly town, a wonderful marrying of British and Turkish atmosphere, plenty of entertainment during the Summer months and with a few bars open during the Winter for the residents. Again in a mountainous area, it is cooler than Fethiye and therefore, an ideal place to buy a holiday or year round home. From here it is a short dolmus (minibus) ride to Olu Deniz with it's famous beach, busy in the Summer and wonderfully, not so in the Winter. There is a market held each Monday in Hisaronu, during the tourist season and it is a 20-30 minute drive into Fethiye for the famous year round Tuesday market.
