Lycia Walking Trail
Lycia is a heaven for everyone who wants to break free in their lives. It is and 540 km long walking trail. It takes about 29 days to walk this path. Natural, historical and cultural beauties in Lycian area provides an amazing and a memorable holiday experience. Sea, sand and sun… While relaxing on your walk, you will have the chance to discover Lycian beauties by trekking. Melody of pine forests, history of antic ruins and an amazing view of turquoise waters… Fethiye Mountains, Lycian Way, Kayakoy (Ghost Town), Xanthos – Patara and Butterfly Valley are just a few to name some of these routes. You do not have to be a professional to walk these routes. Everybody can join a trekking group on our 5 or 6 hours trekking tours.
Kayakoy-Olüdeniz Hiking trail;
Levissi (also known as the ghost town of Kayakoy). This once bustling Greek settlement nestled against the Taurus mountains was abandoned in the 1920’s for political reasons, and walking through its abandoned paths gives you a wonderful experience.
From Kayakoy, make your way to the sparkling waters of the Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz. Catch your first glimpse of the Blue Lagoon from high above, one of the most famous sights on the Lycian Way.
Kayakoy-Af Tower Walkway;
When you are in Kayaköy, if you take the road towards Gemiler Island, you will come across a small sign to the right that goes to Afkule Monastery. If you have a car you can continue from the dirt road for 1 km and then you can you’re your car and hike the path to Afkule Monastery. It takes about 20 minutes to the Afkule Monastery. The path is quite easy to follow and there are some marks on the rocks in order to guide you.
Once you get to the top, the view will immediately take your breath away. When you look down, you will see the beautiful blue Mediterranean Sea and see the ruins of the monk who lived a big part of his life here.
The monk called Elekterios is supposed to have built this monastery because he preferred an isolated way of life. In ancient times, it was preferred that monasteries should be established in such high and secret places to avoid disturbance. After the death of the monk, the cistern was enlarged to make it more usable. You can see the Rhodes Island from the top when the sky is crystal clear.. In summer, hiking t thee monastery will be dehydrating you and you will need plenty of hydration so make sure that you have enough water with you in order to enjoy the view without getting dehydrated .
Kayakoy – Soguk Su Walkway
Cold Water Bay can only be reached by walking for 40 minutes. There is not a car route. Which makes it even more special. You will be walking alongside of the amazing view of the ruins and the nature.
Scubadiving
Fethiye is one of the best places to scuba dive. There are lots of areas for both amateurs and professionals to dive. At Kumburnu Bay located in Ölüdeniz, there is a diving schools. Also located in Ölüdeniz, Belcekız bay is the place where most of the boats for diving are.
Scuba-diving is also possible with the diving boats at the Fethiye Marina.
